Our Mission & Vision

The mission of Northside Baptist Church is summed up in the book of Luke where Jesus says, “And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and (love) thy neighbour as thyself.” (10:27)

We love God by following the Bible, by worshipping together at our Sunday gatherings, and by taking the good news of God’s love to hearts that cry out for love.

We love others through compassionate charity. This means meeting tangible needs of service in the greater community and around the world.

Leadership Team:

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers to thrive in their personal lives, and to do the work of the ministry.

Pastor Jason Homan, SeniorĀ Pastor

As the primary teaching pastor, Pastor Jason has a passion for carefully unpacking the truths of Scripture. He has served atĀ  Northside Baptist for over a decade. He and his wife Debbie have a solid background in music and have served Christ in some of the most dynamic ministries in Canada. Jason and Debbie are passionate about helping people follow Christ and make forward progress in life. Jason’s hobbies include woodworking, and Debbie is a classically trained musician and pastry chef.

Noah Sparkes, Deacon

Noah Sparkes has been a deacon of Northside Baptist Church for many years. At present time, Noah heads up the J.O.Y. Group (Just Older Youth). His service to the Northside community goes all the way back to the founding of the congregation and the construction of the first church building. Noah and his wife, Violet have been married for over sixty years. Their big heart for others is only exceeded by their love for God.

Darren has a heart for God and a mind for research. His teaching and preaching are a blessing to our congregation as he mines truths from God’s Word. Darren also serves in our sister church in Sydney, Harbour Light Baptist. Darren’s hobby is photography.
