Jesus: The Anchor of Our Soul

The Word of God is filled with rich symbols and imagery. God inspired His scribes to illuminate spiritual truths by comparing them to material objects. In Hebrews 6, the author creates a simile to describe our Hope.

“Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;” (Hebrews 6:19a)

Who is our only Hope in this world? Jesus Christ is our Hope and the Anchor of our soul!

The One Test That Divides the Wise from the Foolish

How can you tell the difference between a wise person and a foolish one? Proverbs offers one simple test to separate the wise from the foolish. Each of us will take this test over and over in our lifetime. This test is deceptively simple, and it can seem unimportant at first.  But passing this test doesn’t just prove that you are wise. It also positions you to grow in wisdom and understanding. This test prepares you to influence others. What is the one test that divides the wise from the foolish?

Hunger: The Key to Spiritual Growth

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus painted a picture of those who are blessed. He taught, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6) Does your heart cry out for righteousness? Are you hungry to know more of God? If you want to grow spiritually, you need to be hungry.
