It’s Not About Us – It’s About Him

At Northside, our desire is to lift up Jesus Christ and introduce others to Him.

We believe that people who have the most fulfilling and joyful lives can be described with these words…

“For the Glory of God and the Benefit of Someone Else.”

At our church, we aren’t perfect. Far from it! But we believe that God’s Word has the answers and help that we need.

So we study the Bible, practice what we learn, and, in the process, grow together.

The Only Cure for Bitterness

In Hebrews 12, the Bible warns us of the dangers of bitterness. We are cautioned in verse 15 to be, “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;” Bitterness is one of the most dangerous sins, leading to anger, depression, sexual sin, and the corruption of others. But God’s Word gives us the solution for bitterness.

Let’s take a look at the only cure for bitterness.

(Some of the folks at our church in Sydney Mines have enjoyed watching this film.) But Eric’s greatest triumph was yet to come.

Here is the inspiring story of Eric Liddell.

3 Truths to Remember in the New Year

Every New Year is an opportunity to start afresh, to renew our vision, and to dream big for our future. Yet, along with its optimism, the New Year can also bring us uncertainty and fear of the unknown. What if my company downsizes? What if I gain weight instead of losing it? What if my spouse gets cancer?

Each of us faces the temptation to choose fear instead of faith. Yet, as God challenged Joshua thousands of years ago, He is challenging you and me to walk by faith.

“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Here are 3 fear-shattering truths to remember in the New Year.
